Oliver Mtukudzi's first wife, Melody Murape, revealed that a later national hero had asked for forgiveness of his daughters because he did not support them when he was on a lethal bed.
In an interview with H-Metro Melody Murape, mother of Mtukudzi's oldest Selmor and Sandra, she regretted not helping her daughters while helping other musicians. Melody is quoted as saying:
He told me, forgive me, my daughters, I helped a number of musicians, but I did not do anything to you.
The good thing is that he realized it before he died. He (Fat) even apologized to his daughters, specifically Selmor.
Mtukudzi founded his Pakare Paye Arts in Norton, where he adapted several musicians and collaborated with others.
In an interview with journalist Wonder Guchu in 2012, Mtukudzi's daughter, Selmor, revealed that her father did not support her musical career. She deceived that with her father's support she would go to places with a musical talent.
