The smaller managers again shone in the Raging Bulls

In the challenging investment environment of the past few years, it has been obvious how many smaller asset managers in South Africa have taken the lead in their performance charts. This was once again confirmed on Wednesday night in the Raging Bull Awards, which have recognized top funds and managers over the last three and five years.

Of the six Raging Bull Awards that were submitted to South African funds, five companies were managed by smaller companies. The exception was the Sanlam Multi managed Conservative Fund, which won the category of the best South African multifunctional equity securities on a risk-adjusted basis over a five-year period.

The most notable Fairtree Equity Equity Fund has won the title of the second most suitable South African equity fund on a risk-adjusted basis for the second year. This is a winning success when the local stock market was very difficult to move.

PSG Asset Management has won second place for the third year. Although the company has gained significant recognition in recent years, it remains a relatively small player in the industry.
