Two projects of comprehensive protection for pregnant women and the unborn child received a huge rejection on Monday at the plenary session of the legislative committees.
The Family and Women's Rights Committees have gathered to evaluate the initiatives that Radul Albarracín has promoted on the one hand; and Peronist Marcelo Caponio and 28 other legislators on the other. Both proposals received a rejection decision during committee treatment so they can not be evaluated during this parliamentary year.
There has been strong controversy since the last project on Thursday. The initiative of 29 legislators proposed compliance with Article 146 of the Constitution, according to which the state recognizes health as "the fundamental right of a person", "the right to a living life". "In this bill, the state has the duty to save both lives, and in this sense, the state must harmonize the rights of pregnant women with the rights of the unborn child and seek to find alternatives to abortion, including the adoption of a child, in addition to the comprehensive restriction of women."
One chapter mentions the situation of pregnant women who have been victims of rape. It has been agreed that the Provincial State will immediately and permanently provide the victim with an integral health, psychological, psychological, sexual, reproductive, legal and spiritual assistance. "A woman who has been the victim of sexual violence must be informed in detail and in detail about the physical and psychological consequences of abortion, both in her person and in the life of the child she has in her womb," she emphasizes. Once a woman is informed and assisted, the project assumes the mandatory completion of ultrasound. "This is an integral part of women's rights to health, given the dangers of having an ectopic pregnancy or other pathology, such as the right to information", was justified.
