Apple offers free repairs to iPhone X and Macbook Pro

Are you having problems with your iPhone X? Or maybe your Apple Macbook Pro? If so, you should be eligible for a free repair at Apple store.

During the weekend, Apple has quietly announced that it offers some repair work on some of its devices for some hardware issues. Problems concern the touch feature on iPhone X and data loss or disk failure on the 13-inch Macbook Pro.

"Apple has found that some of the iPhone X displays may have queries caused by a component that might fail on the display module," the company said.

Specifically, some devices have screens that do not always respond to the touch, while others report that the iPhone X display sometimes reacts when it has not touched.

This was a problem often reported to Apple users online. In August, there were three separate Reddit threads where customers announced and discussed the issues they experience with the display on their iPhone X, including ghost touch and intermittent features.

On its support page, Apple said it would replace the display module on eligible devices free of charge.

"No other iPhone is part of this program," he said.

As for the Macbook Pro, some models of a 13-inch touchscreen notebook "have a problem that can cause data loss and disk failure," Apple said. According to the company, this defect affects some notebooks sold between June 2017 and June 2018.

On Apple's support page for this issue, you can check whether your model (needs 13-inch, 2017, two Thunderbolt, 3 ports) qualifies for free repair. If you have this model, you can enter the serial number of your computer here to see if it is suitable for a free repair.

Customers will need to make sure they back up the data before the repair is done because the computer unit will be erased as part of the repair.

"Any files that were previously damaged can not be restored," Apple said.

This is the latest misunderstanding from Apple, whose products have suffered a number of unusual technical problems in recent years, including faulty Macbook keyboards, laptop overheating, Apple Watch battery shuffles, 53 saga bugs that made the iPhone unusable, and the iPhone, that slows the old iPhone phones.
