Five women were killed in a triangular collision between two buses, and a truck in Sirajganj Sadar swamped. The attack was injured by at least 20 people.
Sirajganj's additional police officer, SNIFT Akhter, told the media that the crash occurred at about 23:30 on Thursday in the Kadder Bore area on the Bangabang highway bridge.
One of the victims was identified. It's Sumi Akhtar Ayesha, 35, wife of Abdul Khalek from Hatiparum Village in Hatipar under Salanga thana.
Kadar Bare Traffic Inspector (TI) Asad Ali said bus Alif Paribahan of Bogra of Dhaka lost control of the cadre. At that time the bus collided with the minibus and the truck adjacent to it, Alip Paribahan's bus fell on the road and the minibus fell to a nearby canal.
Upon receipt of the report, rescue operations began with police, fire and civilian defense. The four female bodies were restored from the bus. In addition to the injured, 20 people were admitted to the Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hospital. Another woman died during her treatment.
