Within thirty years, the village will help 16,500 households that are heated with solid domestic fuels to replace gas, steam or pellet stoves.

Sofia is ready with 2 projects. One was submitted for EC approval and several cities were involved. It's about 16.6 million euros. The pilot replaces the installation of 140 households. They will switch to heating by gas, steam, electricity or pellet stoves. An important project is being prepared under the Operational Program "Environment".

"55,000 homes in Sofia are heated on solid domestic fuels," said Mayor Jordanka Fandakova, who aims to replace 30% of these families.

She checked how the filter was installed on the BKS chimney in the Krasna Polyana district. The company provided 10 filters to the city. The price of one is 3500 BGN. Filters according to data will reduce emissions by about 80%.

Fandakova spoke with the Minister of Social Affairs, Petko Petko, that heating support should include alternative sources to support the support of families whose installation will be replaced.

From April to October in Sofia, there was no single day with excess fine particles. The warming season has come, and we have already noticed an overrun, said Fandakova.
