Two days ago, the National Reference Laboratory conducted the first flu cases in Sofia. Over the last week in the EU, four times the flu of this strain has been proven. This is explained by prof. Todor Kantardjiev, Director of the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, Nova TV.
Characteristically, young people are particularly ill. Studies have shown that the complications of influenza affect the lungs. "In recent years, systemic aspergillosis is one of the complications of severe pneumonia in influenza," explained Professor Kantardjiev.
Nearly the whole country, people complain about a cough that lasts months. But there are other viruses that are characteristic of the fall. Winter viruses have not yet arrived. Those people who have a cough should be more careful because they are more prone to flu.
"Symptoms are fever, aching joints, headaches, and irritation of the eyes from the light," Professor Todor Kantardjiev explained. Flu develops rapidly – within hours.
"Unlike all viral winter infections, it usually has a short incubation time – day, day and half and people are infected for five to seven days," said the director of the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases.
