Google will soon kill Hangouts, a company with infamous applications. 9to5Google reports that the company will turn off Hangouts in 2020.
An application that the company neglects is still in the new Gmail. Mobile applications for the service, on the other hand, still show signs of age. Google is supposed to keep Hangouts alive with Hangouts Hangouts and Hangouts that are business-focused and available through G Suite.
Google has already selected a lot of other messaging apps from Hangouts and has almost become a joke. The company still makes Allo, which has never really dropped, and has recently started investing in RCS with the new Chat / Android Messages app that works almost like Android iMessage.
With Google (hopefully) continuing to invest in RCS and Chat / Android, it's clear that there is no need for Hangouts, not even Allo, and the company that runs the service makes a lot of sense. I just do not know why she's going to kill it until 2020.
