– On the latest issue of Wrestling Observer Radio (via WrestlingInc.com), Dave Meltzer offered more details on how to change the scheduled WrestleMania 35 main event later. The original build schedule for Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey in an individual match.
That plan began almost a year ago at WrestleMania 34, which saw Flair defeat Asuka and ended his unbeaten streak. WWE also planned Natalya vs. Rousey's conflict that would see Natalya turn around. The observer notes, however, that the handover of Nataly's father Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart changed the WWE's plan to turn Natalia back against Rousey.
Previously, Rousey had to face Becky Lynch in a one-time Championship vs. Champion in November in the Survivor series. However, Lynch was injured and suffered a brain shake due to a strike by Nia Jax. As a result, Charlotte Flair came to replace Lynch at the last minute.
According to Meltzer, the end was Flair vs. Rousey in the Survivor Series had the same reserve schedule for the end of the match when it was Lynch vs. Rousey, Flair with a berserk with a kendo wand. The reaction to the match apparently caused WWE to change its plans again.
At one point WWE wanted to reserve Rousey against Flair at Royal Rumble and then Rousey against Lynch one at a time on WrestleMania 35. These plans were discarded because WWE officials decided they wanted Flair, Rousey and Lynch all to be part of the same match on WrestleMania.
This is another message from the Observer radio, WWE plans to add Charlotte Flair to the match at some point to secure a Raw Women match at the Triple Threat match at WrestleMania 35.
Of course, Meltzer noted in the past that "plans may change." From now on, Raw Women's headline title is Ronda Rousey's title. Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35.
