Tesla ended up looking at Q4's profits with a bit of surprise, although we had heard of it before: Deepak Ahuja's Chief Financial Officer retired. Zach Kirkhorn, formerly the company's vice president of finance, took over.
Kirkhorn was only Vice President of Finance two months before today's announcement. However, Ahuja's current CFO said: "I feel really good if Zach has taken over, and he has managed to overcome the many difficult problems he has been working on."
Kirkhorn holds a financial degree from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and the MBA from Harvard and has been with the company for decades in various financial roles.
Ahuja said he would remain Tesla's external consultant and that Executive Director Elon Musk said he "hopes it will be for years to come."
But seriously, I know that the shorts always cause some conspiracy that "DEEPOK takes away the evidence of the state." I think he could just dress up until another star appears. Kirkhorn has made quite a wild ride in Tesla in the last decade, according to its LinkedIn with promotion every 2 years.
It sounds a little boring and downloaded from the conversation, but you do not really want the creative extrovert to run books.
