MONTREAL – The Montreal youth family, who drowned during the grammar school, said they intended to sue the school council and the city worried about negligence.
The blessings of parents and uncle Moukoka announced this morning at a law firm.
His mother, Evelyne Mavoungou-Tsonga, says he hopes the lawsuit will illuminate the event and help others save the nightmare of losing a child.
The coroner's report found that a 14-year-old who did not know how to swim spent 38 minutes at the bottom of the pool and no one noticed it during a busy gymnasium on February 15th.
Coroner Louis Normandin has recommended that teachers in the gym have to have minimal training if they are to swim and that the lifeguard provides a daily tour at all courses.
The family has announced that they also intend to establish a foundation in the name of Blessing.
