We've already seen how they've been able to convert Doom original in "HD" using neural networks of artificial intelligence. Now it's back Final Fantasy VII, thanks to the PC version mode that multiplies the resolution by four.
CaptRobau, the creator of mud, explains his activity:
The Remako HD graphics module completely refreshes the pre-prepared background of the classic JRPG Final Fantasy VII, All resources now have a four times higher resolution than the original.
Using pioneering neural networks of artificial intelligence, this improvement attempts to mimic details that would have original ornaments. This helps new visual elements have a higher resolution than they could have thanks to the current technology.
It sounds too good to be true, but as it happened Doom, the results speak for themselves: financial means remastered games look really good.
Here is a video showing a mod in action, comparing the original background to the new HD:

Mod is still beta, but it should work with any version of PC game. You can download them and try it here.
