Clock recommendations for Every night's sleep is always between 6 and 8 hours. Be cautious because more than this time is causing a greater risk of death and cardiovascular disease, according to a global study published in the European Heart Journal.
Data from 21 countries in seven different regions of the world were studied and it has been shown that people who sleep for more than 8 hours have a higher risk of suffering serious cardiovascular problems, such as stroke or heart failure, and the risk of death by 41% higher than that of other people.
It is possible that many of these people are asleep more because they have other main conditions that cause them to sleep for several hours, but when they do this they increase even more risk cardiovascular diseases or mortality.
But it not only affects the hours you sleep during the day, but also at a time of nap, as explained by Chuangshi Wang, the person who led the research, who is one of the Beijing University Medical College doctoral students in China:
"Tensions during the day were associated with an increased risk of serious cardiovascular events and death in those who have more than six hours of sleep at night but not those who sleep less than 6 hours a night", Wang explained.
Although the cause and effect can not be proven directly, it has also been demonstrated sleep less than 6 hours daily increases risk by 9% also in terms of disease risk compared to people who slept between 6 and 8 hours.
The study was conducted on the basis of 116,632 adults aged between 35 and 70 years and was followed for almost 8 years. The results were as follows: Of every 1,000 people who slept 6 to 8 hours (recommended), 7.8 developed cardiovascular disease or died each year compared to 9.4 people who slept for six hours or less at night.
Good sleep at weekends can be the key to avoiding anxieties, according to science
"If you sleep less for a long time, you are more likely to develop a chronic illness", explains Francesco Cappuccio, professor of cardiovascular medicine and epidemiology at Warwick University.
People who sleeping between 8 and 9 hours, 8.4 out of 1,000 people developed cardiovascular disease or died each year and increased sleep time. People who they slept 9 to 10 hours, 10.4 per 1000 people and those who slept for more than 10 hours, 14.8 out of every 1,000 people developed cardiovascular disease or died each year.
