Producer from recording studio Sono Pavel Karlík, who collaborated on the album EvoLucie Lucie's band, even after thirty years of practice, could not guess whether the recording would like it. In his words, he could not wait for the recording to take place after the popular band reunited after 16 years in the recording studio.
"All four members of the band have their own projects, and it was not entirely sure how it will go, but it worked out well," he said after shooting for about a year.
Some parts of the song singer and drummer David Koller recorded in his studio in Mikulov. The music production was co-produced by Karlík and all members of the Lucie band, including the guitarist and singer Robert Kodym, bass guitarist P.B.CH. and keyboardist Michal Dvorak.
Karlík is a master of sound and producer is signed under a number of Czech popular and classical music. With Lucie, she has worked together for a long time. "Some professional relationships and habits have remained after 16 years, so in a good way, we returned to the old tracks and there was a positive atmosphere during the shooting, but we were not comfortable," Karlik said.
Four of the songs were mixed by invited foreign producers John Spiker, Mike Clink, Mike Fraser and Mark Plati. "There are songs next to each other in the studio in Nouzco next to world producers and there is no difference, but Robert Kodym wanted to try out what it would look like when people who admired his whole life got it in. He used the opportunity to reach Mika Fraser known especially AC / DC mixes, "said Karlík. "He's got a great mix, and I'm glad he did it just like I do," he added.
As guest, the album also features foreign artists alongside Czech singer Lenny, Prague vocal choir Gospel Limited, Krless band playing historical instruments and permanent guest Lucie Adam Koller. Besides Kurdish singer Sakina Teyna, it's also Phil X, the current guitarist of Bon Jovi, who played solo in the track The best I know. "BrainZone, first by means of Clinka, wanted to reach out to guitarist Slashe of Guns'n Roses, but it did not work out, but the recording with a nice solo of Phila X landed," Karlik said.
Producer Sono has a title track on the album EvoLucie. "It's not like I had to have my song as a producer, so the band chose to compete with others, including our own, so we're glad she went through the 'test-filter'," Karlik added.
The album was released today and on 13th November in Ostrava the tour of EvoLucie starts. Karlik also takes part in the series of concerts as a sound engineer.
