Kiev strongly opposed István Íjgyártó, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Deputy Prime Minister responsible for national policy Zsolt Semjén for his recent statement on Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has announced to the Hungarian Ambassador that it should be abandoned by activities that have a negative impact on the development of bilateral relations, especially in the implementation of the agreements concluded between the two foreign ministers in October in a dispute between Hungary and Ukraine.

Viktor Orbán said on Thursday at a meeting of the Hungarian Diaspora in Budapest that Ukraine is a country without credible time horizons for NATO membership or the EU. He said there is no agreement with the current Ukrainian political leadership.

He said that Ukraine will soon be presidential, and if the situation does not get worse, it is a great success. Then it will be shown whether the current Hungarian course will continue or that a presidential administration with Hungary will be established, "Orbán Viktor said.

Zsolt Semjen pointed out the same event: Hungarians in the Transcarpathian Republic are the most difficult part of the nation, deprived of the rights they have acquired, especially their deployment.

István Íjgyártó delivered a copy of his credentials to Kiev on Wednesday Vaszil Bodnar, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, with whom he practically started his embassy work in Ukraine. His credentials still have to be accepted by the Ukrainian President, Peter Porozenko, in order to fully fulfill his embassy duties – said Jevropejszka Pravda, the Ukrainian news portal at the request of the ambassador.
