App Store removes Tumblr due to pornographic content

Jakarta (ANTARA News) – Tumblr has confirmed that the problem of child pornography has been a source of trouble until their apps have been removed from Apple's app iOS app market for several days.

"We are committed to building a secure network environment for all users, and we have a policy of zero tolerance against sexual violence and child exploitation," Tumblr said in an official blog.

Tumblr has disappeared from the App Store since November 16, and has not yet provided an explanation of the content of child pornography on their blog, just telling them that they are clear.

Many believe that Tumblr was deleted because it contained pornographic content as written on the Verge page.

Since then, Tumblr via the blog has been informed about the day-to-day development of trying to get the app back into the App Store.

In his most recent explanation, Tumblr said that each shot recorded on their platform was scanned so that he was not loaded with child pornography and routinely conducted content audits to add negative content to his database.

"We will immediately remove such content," Tumblr said.

Tumblr is still available for Android users on the Google Play Store.

The Ministry of Communications and Information has blocked Tumblr in Indonesia for problems with pornography in early March this year, the ministry found more than 300 accounts containing immoral content in the social network.

Kominfo has blocked 8 Tumblr System (DNS) domain names that can be accessed from Indonesia because it has not responded to government requests for removal of content that is not in line with the regulations in Indonesia.

The Tumblr site is still unavailable because blocking became effective in March.
