Jakarta (ANTARA News) – DPP Party Vice-President Gérindra Fadli Zonová believes that the Democratic Party's mass base will continue to support the Prabowo-Sandiaga pair, so it is not too concerned with some democratic cadres who support the Jokowi-Maurice pair.
"We believe that the main vote of Democrats will continue to support Prabowo-Sandi," Zon said in a parliamentary compound in Jakarta on Monday.
He said it was related to the statement by the Democratic Party's Democratic Party's Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono (Ibas) that the Democratic Party would not impose a penalty imposed on cadres who had different choices about a presidential candidate for vice president.
Zon did not question the appeal of Ibas because he believed that from the outset, the Democratic Party had continued to support Prabowo-Sandi.
He understands, however, that there are one or two cases of regional ruling Democrats who have voted in favor of the Jokowi-Maurie couple because it was an internal solution for the working party to resolve.
"I do not think there is a problem, it will not be disturbed because of the statement, because it intends to continue to support it, but maybe we do not know that there are one or two specific people, I think it's reasonable," he said.
He said that, ultimately, human elections were not always linear with what his party had proposed as a party supporter of the government, but his voters supported Prabowo-Sandi.
Previously, on Sunday (11/11), Ibas at the edge of the Democratic party's legislative candidates declared on Sunday (11/11) that there was a party cadet who backed Joko Widodo-Mafina Amina.
"We noted very well, an internal survey by the Democratic Party said that most of them chose Pak Prabowo, but also those who were in line with the culture of the local area that chose Pak Jokowi," said Ibas.
The Democratic Party is a democratic party, so choosing to support presidential elections is a matter for each individual cadre.
According to him, no sanctions will be imposed on cadres who have different choices for presidential and vice-presidential candidates.
