Two lanes were opened while traffic congestion, but the M50 chiefs said they would close again to allow the truck to be dismantled
There is a big delay on the M50 this afternoon, because the rescue service deals with truck fire.
The Dublin Fire Brigade and Gardai are in place just off Junction 4 Ballymun to the south.
The fire was extinguished and two bands were reopened, but the right was diverted back to the M1 and the port tunnel after the journey was closed to the time that had taken place with that event.
M50 officials said the road would close again when the truck was removed.
They said: "The right and middle streaks were temporarily reopened to allow traffic to be relieved by the S-bang after J4 Ballymun.
"They will close briefly so that the freight wagon can be removed and cleaned."
AA Roadwatch said: "The two bands are now open on the M50 south of J4 Ballymun, but can be temporarily closed temporarily to facilitate the truck's dismantling.
"Transport is difficult from the M1 exchange, backing to Clarehall Rd and Port Tunnel, and slow communications from J5 Finglas."
Gardai warned that there are long delays in the area, as motorists are encouraged to try to avoid the area.
