BEIRUT – The head of Lebanese militant Hezbollah says his government should not give up diplomatic pressure to get rid of its rocket arsenal group.
Hassan Nasrallah claims on Saturday that neither threats nor sanctions will force his group to surrender their capabilities, including the missile arsenal Israel has taken.
Nasrallah says Lebanon should not be subject to diplomatic pressure because "giving" would allow Israel to attack Lebanon.
His speech was broadcasted to supporters in the southern district of Beirut.
Nasrallah said his group would respond to Israeli attacks.
His remarks come after the Israeli media reported that a Jewish state had asked the Lebanese government through a mediator to act against Hezbollah missile factories or to take military action.
