LBL2 Final Series: Jelgava bronze victory, first final on Wednesday in Gulbene



On Wednesday, May 1, the finals of the 2nd Division of the Latvian basketball league will start, where the best team of the main tournament "Gulbenes Buki" will meet BK "Kekava" (6). In the series, the fight leads to up to 3 wins. First match on May 1 in Gulben, second on May 7 in Kekava and third on May 11 in Gulben. In the main tournament, both games played at least, but the gulbenes were better – 69:76 and 84:76 at home.

In the first round of the excluded tournament "Gulbenes Buki" was defeated by BJBS "Riga / Ridzene" and BK "Saldus". Last year's offspring "RSU" came in the semi-finals, but this time in "2-1" was "Buki".

BK BKSS / SC Mēmele, like BA "Turība", defeated BK "Kekava" in the tournament. Semi-final heavy three-game series with BK "Jelgava" / LLU basketball players, where the winner was only clarified in seconds from the last match.

In the main tournament, both games ended in an absolutely identical result – 82:69 in favor of jugglers.

In the first round of tournament exclusion, Jelgava defeated "RTU" and "Ventspils University College" but Kekava surrendered in the semifinals. RSU's eighth final in two games played a huge role in "Livani Glass", followed by a series of three matches in the quarter finals against "Kandava / Compor" and three games in the semi-finals against "Gulbene Bukes".

The first bronze series started very similarly. Both teams exchanged accurate routes from a distance and were doing well under the baskets. At the end of the second quarter, guests scored + 9 points in the game, but in the middle with a five-point handicap. In the third quarter, Jelgava achieved a 11-point breakthrough, with Kaspars Neimanis in the team, who managed to gain a few accurate three-point throws in a short time. Finally, win with an eight-point lead from BK "Jelgava" / LLU, which allows you to win one bronze medal.

Jānis Bērziņš and Reinis Avotiņš won 18 points.

The RSU team has 21 points for Armands Ginter, 18 points for Kristaps Jurjans and 12 rebounds.
