Sørloth, who is hired from Crystal Palace, together with Sigurd Rosted, looks forward to the final cup against Mechelen in Brussels on May 1. Both semi-finals against Oostende ended 2-2, but Ghent was the best in the penalty shootout thanks to three
saved goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski.
Ostend shook in the middle and led 2: 0 after half an hour. Tom De Sutter and Sakala fashion seemed to crush the last dream of Ghent.
A quarter before, coach Gent Jess Thorup turned Rosted with attacker Jean-Luc Dompé to make every effort to find goals. In 84 minutes Sørloth reached out with his goal.
After that, it took until the first minute, but then Roman Bezus scored the goalkeeper's return and forced the other passes. There were no other targets, though Sørloth was dangerously forward several times.
In the criminal shootout Kaminski saved three penalty kicks. Sørloth gave Gent a 2-1 lead when his coach punched his shot. Then the hosts had escaped twice, and Ghent had his front hand.
Ostendar goalkeeper William Dutot was also in battle and extended the excitement of another rescue when Jonathan David could send Ghent to the final. Instead, Kaminski had to deliver another rescue before Bezus could put a decisive penalty kick.
