Tumblr's mobile app, a social media content sharing network, disappeared on Monday from the Apple App Store. Initially, there was talk of disappearance due to a technical problem, but through independent sources, our sister, Download.com, found that the app was removed because child pornography that was beyond the site's movies was found.

Download.com asked Tumblr for comments and the company's spokesman replied by following:

"We are committed to helping to create a safe online environment for all users, and we have a policy of zero tolerance regarding media representing sexual exploitation and exploitation of children, as this is a problem for the whole industry. We have worked with the National Center for Missing and Abused Children (NCMEC) to actively monitor content uploaded to the platform, "said the spokesperson.

He added that every picture loaded on Tumblr is scanned into a child sexual abuse database, and the images in which this type of content is detected will never reach the platform. The spokesman said: "A routine audit has discovered content that has not yet been included in the database, but we have removed the content immediately." We continually evaluate the next steps that we can improve and our team does not have a higher priority. "

These statements will help us understand what happened to Tumblr, why it was so sudden, and why both companies did not provide any explanation because child pornography is a problem that should be solved directly by the police.

But this is not the first time Tumblr faced a similar problem. According to Download.com, in March 2018, the Indonesian government blocked Tumblr because the company did not remove pornographic content from its service.
