CABUYAO CITY, Laguna – Lazada's on-line local reseller unit aims to double its day-to-day revenue from Sunday's one day retail sale, which offered discounts of up to 99 percent on products sold on the popular shopping portal.

At a press conference, General Manager of Logistics, Juan Pavez Spencer, told Lazada Philippines that the company, which is mostly owned by the Chinese Alibaba Group, recorded a 60-hour, 24-hour, shopping event called "11.11" 60% of its sales target.

"Our team is ready for a high volume of orders and deliveries by constantly expanding our warehouse ecosystem and logistics partners," he said, adding that the continued growth of the business has prompted the company to start looking for another logistic node, to increase its 60,000-meter track in warehouse space to 120,000 m2 by 2021.

"It is most likely our new warehouse in Clark, Pampanga," Pavez said.

Launched in 2012, Lazada is the most important online shopping and sales destination in Southeast Asia – present in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. With 300 million warehouses, Lazada offers a wide range of products from beauty, fashion and consumer electronics to household goods, toys, sports equipment and food. Philippine logistics node is the largest in the region.

During online sales, Filipino customers have access to more than 50 million offers, including discounts of up to 99 percent, and P1 trades and vouchers. Lazada has about 30,000 retailers offering more than 80 million products in the Philippines. It also offers thousands of authentic brands, including Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, JBL, Philipps, Mac, Oreal, Dove, Olay and Levi's.

"In the Philippines, 11.11 are giving in the donation season, as other Filipinos use exciting offers and discounts to cut off their Christmas shopping lists," said Ray Alimurung, CEO of Lazada Philippines.

Online shoppers can use the same / daily delivery. A premium shipping option is available in certain parts of the Great Manila, Metro Cebu and Davao City areas.

"Online shopping allows Filipino users to enjoy the convenience of crawling millions of products at their fingertips and accepting their purchases right at their doorstep without having heavy operations and overcrowded shopping malls during Christmas hurry," said Alimurung. / cbb
