90% of the Algarve girl is vaccinated against a virus that causes cancer in the uterus

Portugal is at the forefront of vaccination against human papillomavirus worldwide.

Coverage of vaccination against human papilloma virus (HPV), the major cause of cervical cancer, is already around 90% in the Algarve. In the 10 years since the vaccine was introduced into the National Vaccine Program, the Regional Health Administration (ARS) of the Algarve welcomed the good adherence of girls and their families, which enabled us to achieve these figures.
