Santo André will have health measures

On Monday (29), blood glucose tests can be carried out free of charge from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and blood pressure is checked.

On Monday (29), those who use the Santo André station, which serves a 10-turquoise line, will be able to perform blood pressure tests and a glucose test for free. The event takes place from 9 am to 12 pm.

Experts will report on the risks of diabetes and hypertension, as well as manage the proper use of medicines.

Blood pressure monitoring is a simple and effective procedure for detecting hypertension. High blood pressure represents 40% stroke, 80% stroke and 25% end-stage renal failure. Diseases that can be avoided until hypertensive people know their condition remain in treatment and under controlled pressure.

The blood glucose test is done with a drop of blood taken from the fingertips that accurately determines the glucose level.

This procedure is important for the identification of diabetes – a chronic disease in which the body does not produce insulin or cannot properly use the insulin it produces. According to the Brazilian company Diabetes, the disease affects more than 13 million Brazilians.

Health and well-being actions

The initiative is implemented with the support of CPTM, which in its stations opens space for activities related to the promotion of health and well-being of travelers and cultural and artistic events of artists and partner institutions.
