SINGAPORE – A bizarre brawl took place around 2 pm on Monday (April 29) between two men along Hougang Avenue 9, near the Ci Yuan Community Club.
Student Lucas Oh, 18, who at that time ate at a nearby store, filmed the incident and sent it to a series of clips on his Instagram account.
In one clip one can see a person swinging with the recorder at another man, which is reflected by a tall pot plant swinging on him.
They both seem to be missing and continue shortly before shouting at each other.
In the next clip that was taken afterwards, a man with a recorder could be seen standing side by side and playing it – slightly off-key – as the police approached.
Mr. Oh later sent a photo of a man sitting on the ground with his hands behind his back, surrounded by police.
The police officer seems to have seized the recorder.
Mr. Oh told The Straits Times that the incident started after looking around the incident between the man and the recorder and the other man who was with a group of friends at the time.
Both sides screamed at each other, but according to Mr. Oh, they didn't seem to understand each other when they spoke different languages.
Mr. Oh said the man with the video recorder then moved the other man into the pot plant.
He then grabbed the plant and waved it, and they both started fighting.
Mr. Oh said he didn't know why the man with the recorder started playing it when the police arrived, but he said he was drunk.
ST turned to the police to comment on the incident.
