SINGAPORE – A 17-year-old girl was arrested by the police for her suspicion of participating in at least 20 e-commerce scams selling BTS and Monsta X concert goods. T
The police said on Tuesday (April 16) that between September and December last year they received several reports from victims who were allegedly cheated by Carousell, an online retailer who sold goods from two Korean boybands.
After the bank transfer payment, some reportedly did not receive items while others received counterfeits, he told the police.
During the follow-up investigations, the officers found out the business affairs of the teenager and arrested her on Monday.
She is believed to be involved in at least 20 cases of such frauds and cheated a total of $ 1,200 from her victims.
He is expected to be charged with fraud on Wednesday.
The crime of cheating carries prison for up to 10 years and a fine.
