British car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover has finally confirmed that the Nitriansky plant will get a new model in production.
By the end of this year, a new Defender should be launching the Jaguar Land Rover production line in Nitra.
As the carmaker said, this new model was designed and developed at Gaydone, UK, which is the seat of Land Rover's design, engineering and testing facilities.
"The newly opened, top-of-the-line Land Rover production facility in Nitra will become the new home of global Defender production," said Miroslava Remenárová, spokeswoman.
Defender belongs to the legend of off-road vehicles. The first vehicle was made in Britain in 1948. Since Europe was struggling with a lack of steel after the war, the company built this model primarily of aluminum.
Originally Defender was intended for farmers, but over time it became a multipurpose vehicle.
