music Conductor Emil Eliasson is the recipient of the excellent Sixten Gemzéus scholarship this year. Thirty-year-old Eliasson gets it because "he has a strong musical interpretation and pedagogy, a great ability to express his visions and dazzling technique", as stated by the jury.
Emil Eliasson graduated from the Royal College of Music in 2014 and since then has participated in ensembles in Stockholm, Stockholm, Stockholm Symphony Orchestra and Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra and internationally in Zurich and London.
The scholarship goes to talent and future names in Swedish music and is distributed this year for the third time. According to Gålöstiftelsen, who earns dividends, the price of money is 500,000 SEK the largest in Sweden. This year's prize will be awarded during a ceremony at the castle on September 8th.
Last year, opera singer Christina Nilsson paid a scholarship.
