He had to choose how to end his career. Do you play from the beginning or get involved? IFF defender Behrang Safari chose the second place and in the 61st minute he replaced in an insignificant match at home against Östersund.
– It’s very emotional right now. There is a lot that needs to be accepted. It was nice. I enjoyed every second. I’m just damn happy, lucky, says Safari Dplay after winning 4-0 in the Allsvenskan final.
The gold of the Swedish championship was secured by the IFF on November 8 at home against Sirius. For Safari, it was the number four in his career – the first he won in 2004.
– It’s absolutely fantastic. I couldn’t wish for more. I feel like I’ve closed a circle and my time as a football player has been magical, says the 35-year-old.
In the summer of 2008, he became a professional abroad, and during the years in Basel and Anderlecht, there were a total of seven league gold medals – five in Switzerland and two in Belgium.
– I enjoyed every second. I met so many nice people, made so many nice friends. It’s hard to say if I was missing anything, says Safari, who returned to the IFF in the summer of 2016.
