A supermarket is being piloted that has no money, forcing customers to pay the app.

The UK's leading supermarket chain is trying to shop without cashiers, forcing customers to scan and pay for items with the app. It does not accept cash or any other kind of card payment.

Sainsbury is local in Holborn, London runs the pilot for three months. Other stores have offered self-service apps before the app, but this is the first time in the UK that you can only checkout in the store that way.

Emma Simpson reports.
