Fenwick on High Street has announced plans for the Christmas Project, including the arrival of Santa, community artists and, of course, extensive light switching.
There will also be more festive screenings on the store.
Counting at Christmas starts at 15:30 on Sunday, November 25, when Santa arrives on a holiday cruise along with artists from the Loukacek, Holly and Ivy pedestrians and reindeer.
The lights light up at half an hour after half an hour from Santa's big entrance.
He will join Megan and Colchester Prime Minister Peter Chillingworth, who will commemorate the start of the festive shopping season.

Fenwick Cave will be open on weekdays and on Saturdays from 9:30 to 16:00 and from 10:30 to 16:00 on Sundays. Christmas Eve will be open between 9:30 and 14:30. Tickets are £ 8.50 and can be booked in advance via www.fenwick.co.uk/grottocolchester.
Lion Walk will begin its festivities on November 28, with light switch and fireworks.
It will take place at Lion Walk, from 17:00 to 19:00, with Theatretrain, Colchester Institute, and Santa.
The light on Culver Square will be the same as Fenwick. In the afternoon there will be festive entertainment with lights on at 17:20.
Performers include IlAZ Dance Company, Donovan Academy of Dance and Theater Arts, Colchester Operatic Society and others.
