It was a rough couple of years for Hyundai in America, but the automotive junction with a stacked product strategy now brings fruit. He is not alone in this. Adding new utility models, such as the Kona subcompact, helped the brand to shrink from the sale of broken cars and in 2018 scored critical monthly gains, as well as Ascent's big crossover helped keep Subaru rivals in a good market position.
While there is a change between Hyundai's car offerings, it's big cars that fill both cartridges and fantasies, and the Korean brand needs a large (but not too large) three-line tool to boost sales and profit in the North American region. Hyundai feels palisade is just a ticket. In fact, you already forget about the Santa Fe XL label when you read it.
Palisade was not nearly a secret when Hyundai revealed the name at the beginning of this month. And that was not a medium-sized crossover design – just the strikingly named HDC-2 Grandmaster concept that was released this year in South Korea, but the new 2019 Santa Fe, which replaced the long Santa Fe Sport tooth.
With palisade, Hyundai converts most of the design language to a smaller screen. Its square, undamaged, two-storey size makes its predecessor look like a marshmallow, but it can not convert a new vehicle into the Korean Tahoe. There are curves here, most notable in the grid contour with a thick frame.
One can not help, but notice that the word "bold" appears more than once in the automobile's record. It is not a coincidence.
Several three-line crossovers deserve to be called pioneering, and Palisade does not count among these rare selections. These figures are well against the competing six-cylinder, including the GM 3.6-liter V6. Power is on the front or all four wheels with eight-speed automatic gear.
Compared to other top-of-the-line tri-line crossovers, the palisade is a 196.1-inch palisade and top-of-the-line for the wheelbase (114.2 inches, coupled with Nissan Pathfinder and Ford Badatel). The volume of the load behind the rear seat is 18 cubic feet or 45.8 cubes with a compound third row. Hyundai definitely he wants to know that Palisade is bigger in any external dimension than Toyota Highlander, just like Santa Fe XL.
Yessir … this is definitely the transition to the American market.
While no one expects the Palisade buyer to go too far, the all-wheel-drive HTRAC system adds snow to the existing list of Normal, Sports and Intelligent modes. The automaker claims the system boasts a wider range of torque distribution front and rear than other AWD systems, although without details this should not be considered a gospel.
In terms of comfort, each of the seven passengers (not eight, remember) gets a USB plug-in. Sixteen cup holders fill the palisade arid interior. The front passenger, front passenger and front passenger will find a 10.25-inch touchscreen with a headset while the driver looks at a 12.3-inch digital cluster. The head-up display shows the information on the windscreen for those who want to look more.
Given that the name Palisade radiates images of easy and coastal living, the Intercom in the Driver Talk vehicle tries to talk like a wind. There are two modes for this system: rear seat conversation and sleep mode. Earlier features allow the driver to communicate via the audio system to second or third row passengers, while sleep mode ensures that rear seat occupants do not have to hear the dual front seat tunes.
Safety? It's a standard, by default. The list includes assistance to prevent collision from injury, pedestrian detection, collision avoidance assistance, street driving assistance, rear-end collision assistance, emergency exit assistance (warning when the vehicle is approaching the door that is about to go open), high beam assistance, driver alert alerts, and smart cruise control with Stop & Go.
