She is a successful therapist, has a devoted husband (Grant) and a young son who attends an elite private school in New York. Overnight, a gulf opens up in her life: violent death, a missing husband, and Grace, instead of believing she knew, only a string of terrible revelations. As a result of the widespread and very public disaster and frightened ways in which she failed to take note of her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child and for herself.
Sutherland plays Franklin Renner, Grace's father, a retired and loving grandfather, who has the task of protecting his family when a stormy revelation appears.

Emmy and double winner of the Golden Globe Sutherland recently starred as J. Paul Getty in the FX series anthology, Confidence, and at Sony Classics Leisure time finder, opposite Helen Mirren, will be the next one on the film Ad Astra, co-starred with Brad Pitt for director James Gray.
