The band refers to the episode "Brady's Bunch" from 1969 in which McCormick, who played Marcia Brady on a family sitcom, catches the measles along with her other siblings. In this, Marcia says, "If you have to get sick, you certainly can't beat measles."
She also added that her own daughter had been vaccinated.
"Having measles was not fun," McCormick reminded, when she actually got measles as a child. "I remember spreading through my family."
Most cases in the United States have appeared in communities with low virus vaccination rates, according to public health officials.
Measles are a highly contagious disease caused by a virus that can spread through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes, or when someone comes in contact with them or touches them, touching the same objects or surfaces. Symptoms of measles may include fever, cough, runny nose, water eyes, and red spot rash.
