The San Diego organization seems to be interesting in keeping Tatis in the line-up as much as possible by opening it on the MLB roster instead of keeping it in place for several weeks to keep it shy for a year. However, the same reasoning is also pleased with caution. Instead of risking a major hammy problem, the club will probably put Tatis on ice for a while.
Tatis doesn't seem to worry about a serious injury, even though he's still waiting for a full examination. Plans in his absence are likely to include Manny Machado sliding to short a You France get some extra time on the hot corner.
San Diego needed to clear the active place to add Cal Quantrill to start Wednesday. It will still be necessary for him to open up space for 40 people, perhaps by moving another 60-day IL player.
