Archbishop Maracaibo denies the lascivious acts of a priest against a 12-year-old girl
On Wednesday 28 November, the Archdiocese of Maracaibo introduced the media in which he refused the lascivious acts of priest Ivah Merino Padial of Spanish origin and belonging to the Church of María Inmaculado against a 12-year-old girl.
In the text read by the Assistant Bishop of Monsignor Ángel Caraballo, the excommunication of Merino Padial was proclaimed, which would also not exercise any position in the Catholic Church, Venezuela or any part of the world in such detail.
Monsignor Caraballo apologized to relatives and the Catholic community in Zulia and asked for the competent authorities to take care of the case.
The priest was arrested on Sunday, Saturday, 24 November, to maintain a confidential relationship with a 12-year-old girl, police say.
It turned out that the inhabitants of urbanization in El Naranjal, where the Maria Inmaculado Church is located, knew "not sure" what they did according to their words.
"Some things were suspicious, but everything was a secret because Father Padial had been visiting a girl's house for more than a year and had a very well-known relationship with her mother," they said, demanding protection of their identity at the same time.
