Students with psychological difficulties have more likely self-destructive behavior

According to doc. Dr. Huynh Van Son, currently a higher level of school psychiatric disorders, Vietnamese students face many psychological difficulties. Therefore, puberty children have self-inflicted self-harm, which is a good consideration. This study found the cause to find a way to prevent this phenomenon.

Self-destructive behavior involves self-attraction, pessimistic thinking about life, self-renewal, a feeling of depression with specific symptoms of physical and clinical Sometimes the subject does not recognize.

The manifestation of this phenomenon is focused on behavior such as neglect of health, life itself, refusal of protection (without a helmet, lifejacket …); masking, hair, carved on the skin, own poisoning, self-movement; They are silent in distress not expressing their feelings. Even higher levels of suicide attempts will commit suicide.

The research team also conducted a survey of 1,043 students in 7 lower secondary schools in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong. The results of the behavioral status study revealed that 643 students (61.6%) were neglected and showed their lack of accountability. In addition, 401 people have "pessimistic thinking about life", which is the second highest share (38.4%). Up to 149 students admitted to "hurt", accounting for 31.6%.

Of the 1,043 students, the team looked at 280 students who committed self-destructive behavior.

Especially self-destructive signs on the body have alarming numbers at many and many levels, such as hair loss 18.2%; biting itself also represented 18.2%. It is frightening that suicidal and suicidal behavior represents more than 35% on two levels and many. Pouring into something also accounts for nearly 20%.

"We have had an in-depth study of a student who has the habit of banging his head against the wall whenever something is wrong with parents and teachers. If he touches his head with his hands, he can see the traces, though covered in time, he was also deeply affected," Assoc. Said Dr. Huynh Van Son.

"There are one and two students at a difficult level, but with a total of 280 children, the ratio of almost 1% is still alarming," said Son.

Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Son also said that the more problem students in psychology, the easier the self-destructive behavior that is easy to see in the sixth grade students are first grade and Grade 9 is the final mark of Preparation for Exams. However, because of the pressure of others, it is not, of course, destructive behavior, but in many cases they themselves expect too much. Some children are attacked by their friends, forced or imitated emotions.

In particular, statistics show that entities that show signs of self-destruction tend to focus on good, average and good students. Specifically, there are 99 excellent students, 110 good students, 51 average students. Similarly, the proportion of students with good behavior and relatively the majority, while the share of students with average behavior, weak and lower, is almost negligible.

The research team has also suggested some preventive measures, including raising awareness of self-destructive behavior among high school students, teachers and, in particular, school counselors. In addition, they organize integrated life skills seminars that develop the ability to manage this behavior of students. At the same time, build a knowledge and training system that teaches students "self-destruction" to regulate psychological conditions and deal with these behavioral stimuli.
